Links to the Wheat Expression Browser have been available via the gene records in the JBrowse genome browser, and now they are also linked to the 'probe' records in the GrainGenes database.
Reduced Height Gene Class
The following gene class has been updated at GrainGenes, based on the information in the Wheat Gene Catalogue (WGC). This includes all genes, along with any associated alleles, references, loci and germplasm sources.
Oat-2019-TX07CSxHidalgo maps 6721 SNPs and 31 QTL for seedling crown rust resistance (4), height (10), and heading date (17) from Sunstrom et al. (2019) A genetic linkage map in southern-by-spring oat identifies multiple quantitative trait loci for adaptation and rust resistance. Plant Breed. 138:82.
GWAS results for stripe rust resistance published since 2015 from five studies on diverse wheat collections were placed on the integrated map from Maccaferri et al. (2015). These are now available on the mapdata set Wheat, Yr Update, 2021,
GrainGenes has published a new tutorial on the GrainGenes Classic channel on YouTube entitled
"Using CMap to Improve Marker Density around a Gene of Interest".
This lesson will guide you though the CMap tool to add co-localizing markers from a consensus map to a mapped gene from an older paper.
The following gene class has been updated at GrainGenes, based on the information in the Wheat Gene Catalogue (WGC). This includes all genes, along with any associated alleles, references, loci and germplasm sources.
Two primer design programs, RJPrimers and BatchPrimer3, which were hosted by GrainGenes, are now available through the GrainGenes' "GrainGenes Tools" menu.
In 2020, we lost both Phil Bregitzer and Udda Lundqvist, Editors of BGN, and we will miss them greatly. Many thanks to Jerry Franckowiak and Victoria Blake for the completion of this issue.
The following gene class has been added to GrainGenes, based on the information in the Wheat Gene Catalogue (WGC). This includes all genes, along with any associated alleles, references, loci and germplasm sources:
Seven new mapping sets for oat have been added to the GrainGenes collection of genetic maps. Many thanks to Charlene Wight at AAFC for precurating these map sets.
