RESULTS OF SPRING WHEAT VARIETIES GROWN IN COOPERATIVE PLOT AND NURSERY
 EXPERIMENTS IN THE SPRING WHEAT REGION IN 1998
 
 The year 1998 was the 70th in the history of the uniform regional testing
 program. Data summarized in this report were obtained from (1) the uniform
 regional hard red spring nursery. and (2) the uniform regional durum
 nursery.

                            Hard Red Spring Wheat
 
 Ingot-(SD3249) Awned, early, tall. Resistant to stem rust and moderately
 resistant to leaf rust. High yield and very high test weight. Moderately
 susceptible to lodging. Moderately susceptible to foliar diseases. Medium
 protein percent. Released by the South Dakota Agricultural Experiment
 station in 1998. Seed sales regulated by the U.S. Plant Protection Act,
 PVP(94).
 
 HJ98---(SBE0050) Awned, midseason, semidwarf. Resistant to stem rust and
 moderately resistant to leaf rust. Very high yield and medium test weight.
 Moderately susceptible to lodging and to foliar diseases. Medium to low
 percent protein. Released by Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station and
 USDA-ARS in 1998. Seed sales regulated by the U. S. Plant Variety
 Protection Act, PVP(94).
 
 Hager---(N920434) Awned, late, semidwarf. Resistant to stem rust and
 moderately resistant to leaf rust. Medium to high yield and medium test
 weight. Good lodging resistance. Moderately susceptible to foliar diseases.
 Medium protein percent. Released by AgriPro in 1998. Seed sales regulated
 by the U.S. Plant Protection Act, PVP(94).
 
 Ivan-(N93-0136) Awned, late, semidwarf. Resistant to stem and moderately
 resistant to leaf rust. High yield and medium test weight. Moderately
