Data summarized in this report were obtained from (1) the uniform regional hard red spring nursery, and (2) the uniform regional durum nursery. NEW VARIETIES Hard Red Spring Wheat Buckshot - (HS79-561) Awned, midseason, semidwarf. Moderately susceptible to leaf and resistant to stem rust. Moderately tolerant of loose smut and ergot. Leif - (77S4372) Awned, midseason, semidwarf, with moderate lodging resistance. Resistant to leaf and stem rust. Medium to high yield and high test weight. Medium protein percent. Released by Northrup King Co. in 1984. Norak - (77S8002) Awned, midseason, semidwarf with moderate lodging resistance. Resistant to leaf rust and moderately resistant to stem rust. High yield and test weight. Low protein percent and very low bake absorption. Released by Northrup King Co. in 1984. Stoa - (ND582) Awned, midseason, medium height. Resistant to leaf and stem rust. Moderately tolerant of loose smut and ergot. Medium lodging resistance. Very high yield and medium test weight. Low to medium percent protein. Satisfactory milling and baking.
