 Pullman, WA -- Grain protein is from NIR.  Both hard and soft winter nurseries were grown in a late (Oct. 6) planting and early (Sept. 21) planting as a foot rot inoculated/fungicide protected side-by-side trial.  Benlate applied (1lb/ac).  Yield loss and lodging differential have been included for the foot rot inoculated/fungicide protected nursery.  Fertilizer application to the foot rot trial:  100 lb actual N in the fall.  Stripe Rust rating for the Spring nursery is R=resistant, MR=moderately resistant, MS=moderately susceptible, and S=susceptible.  Previous crop for this field was also spring wheat.
 
 Tulelake, CA -- The rating scale for diseases (area of flag-1 leaf affected at soft dough stage) is 1=0-3%, 2=4-14%, 3=15-29%, 4=30-49%, 5=50-69%, 6=70-84%, 7=85-95%, 8=96-100%.  BYDV ratings were based on percentage of plants showing foliar symptoms.  The field was fallow in 1999.  Fertilization included 48 lb/a N, 60 lb/a P2O5.  Soil type is Tulebasin mucky silty clay loam.
