 **Semidwarf
 
 1 = Comma - Separation of plants into 2 or more reaction classes. Segregation or 
 seed mixture.
     Dash - Range in reaction on each plant. Range in severity between plants but 
 same reaction class.
 2 = Natural inoculum. Readings based on reactions of the flag leaf and flag leaf 
 minus 1.
 3 = Natural inoculum in addition to inoculations of race 15B.
 
 Notes:
 
 1 - Leaf spot diseases were common.
 2 - Rust readings commenced on 7/22 and completed on 8/17.
 3 - Normal temperatures and adequate moisture occurred for establishing rust. 
 However, leaf rust severity remained low during the first half of the 
 growing period. High temperatures on 8/7-8/9 forced plants to maturity and 
 may have affected severity in stem rust susceptible entries.
