VII. 4. Two multiple recessive marker stocks.

In our marker stock development work we have produced a multiple recessive stock for chromosome 1, and one for chromosome 7. For chromosome 1 the genes are: msg 10, cer-a, br, n, v, bt 1 or 2, k, b, o, s, r, rb. For chromosome 7 they are: msg 19, (cer-x?), ert-g, n, v, bt 1 or 2, k, b, o, s, r, rb.
The above listed alleles are in contrast to our best multiple dominant stock (BGN 6:161).
Multiple recessive stocks for the other five chromosomes are in various stages of development.
In testing for independence of the non-glaucous mutants which we are incorporating into multiple recessive lines, the one we are using for chromosome 2, gs 6, and the one (cer-x?) we have in our chromosome 7 stock, are allelic, in that the F1 is typically non-glaucous. This may be due to a mistake on our part, or the original mutants may be identical.
