II.21 Translocation linkage studies and translocation breakpoints.

The proposed breakpoints for the T5-6's were published in Hereditas 80: 73-82 (1975). Two more publications should be forthcoming this year in Hereditas for the proposal of breakpoints for T6-7's and T4-6's. The cytology data of T4-6's in comparison to available translocations linkage data have brought up again the question that the linkage map of chromosome 4 might be reversed. Tsuchiya (1973) questioned whether the linkage map of chromosome 4 should be reversed. Singh and Tsuchiya (1974) did telotrisomic analysis with K (hooded). It is not clear to us if telo 4 was designated Telo 4S because it showed trisomic ratio with K or if K was placed on the short arm because Telo 4S was used for the study. Other questions we have: When and who first placed K on the short arm of chromosome 4? What data were there to support it?
We are continuing some work on translocation breakpoints and would like to receive any and all data on translocation linkage studies, published or unpublished. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
