IV.3. Coordinator's Report: Chromosome 4.

Five new genes have been added to the linkage map of chromosome 4 with data from linkage markers. Søgaard (BGN 3:57-61) has added ari-c, cer-j and cer-zg. Takahashi (BGN 3:65-66) has added nodeless and a chlorina mutant that is not allelic to f 9. Kleinhofs and Millham (BGN 3: 28 ) have associated three chlorina mutants with chromosome 4. Jensen and Jørgensen (BGN 2:31-32) located a mildew resistance gene, mlo on chromosome 4 by trisomic analysis. For these newly associated genes, three can be placed on the map in approximate positions with linkage values that have been determined. These three are cer-j, ari-c and cer-zg. The map of chromosome 4 then would be:
