II.34. Allelism testing among three yellow streak mutants.

Three yellow streak mutants, namely yst (BGS 0104), yst 2 (BGS 0109), and yst,,c (Lion) were used for allelism testing among themselves. All F1 hybrids were green. In F2 they segregated in a 9 green : 7 yellow streak ratio (Table 1). It was difficult to obtain seed when yst,,c was used as a female parent because of the unbranched stigma of that stock. These data indicate that these three yellow streak mutants are not allelic, therefore, yst,,c should be given the gene symbol, yst 3.
