INFORMATION ABOUT THE BARLEY GENETICS NEWSLETTER



The need for an international barley genetics newsletter was discussed at the First International Barley Genetics Symposium in 1963 and a resolution establishing Barley Genetics Newsletter was adopted by the Second International Barley Genetics Symposium in 1969. The resolution is included in the Foreword of Volume 1 of the Barley Genetics Newsletter.

The Barley Genetics Newsletter is published electronically and on paper. For the electronic version see: http://probe.nalusda.gov:8000/otherdocs/bgn/bgn.html . The paper version is available with advance payment of a subscription fee to the publisher, the American Malting Barley Association, Inc. An address list of subscribers, authors, and other interested parties is included for informational purposes in each issue. Please check your address on the list in Volume 27, and notify the Managing Editor of any changes.

Contributions for publication in the Barley Genetics Newsletter should be sent to the Technical Editor:

Contributions received by January 31, 1999 will be included in Volume 29. Articles will be added to the electronic version as soon as possible after they are received. The paper version will be printed as soon as possible after the January deadline. Reports on research activities (including ongoing projects, descriptions of new genetic and cytological techniques, and current linkage maps) are invited for the Research Notes section. Researchers are encouraged to submit descriptions of genetic stocks for the Barley Genetic Stocks section. Letters to the editors are welcome and will be published in a Letters to the Editors section. Please inform the Technical Editor of any errors you notice.

Coordinators assigned at the International Barley Genetics Symposium should submit their reports by December 10, 1998 to:

All correspondence regarding the Barley Genetics Newsletter should be separated from other items to avoid confusion. All correspondence should be in English. Please give your complete mailing address including the name of the country in all correspondence.
