In BGN Vol 22 comprehensive lists were published on 1) Genes for powdery mildew reaction and 2) Loci for disease and pest reaction. Since that time from medio 1992 to ultimo 1993 very few new data on these subjects have appeared.
Steffenson and Miller (1993) refer to stem rust resistance genes Rpgl to Rpg3 and to a tentatively designated recessive gene rpgBH in 'Black Hulles' described by Steffenson et al. 1984 as 'gene s'. It is, however, unknown if rpgBH is allelic to any of the former three genes.
Kaiser and Friedt (1992) describe a recessive gene ym4 located on chromosome 3 L for resistence to barley mild mosaic virus in German winter barleys. In 1993 Götz and Friedt report that this gene is allelic to genes Ym1 and Ym2, and that a number of European varieties carry one unnamed recessive resistance gene different from Ym4.
