Information About the Barley Genetics Newsletter

The need for an international barley genetics newsletter was discussed at the First International Barley Genetics Symposium in 1963 and a resolution establishing Barley Genetics Newsletter was adopted by the Second International Barley Genetics Symposium in 1969. The resolution is included in the Foreword of Volume I of the Barley Genetics Newsletter.

The mailing list for the Barley Genetics Newsletter is prepared new each year, based on authors of articles that are submitted, and requests from individuals asking specifically that their names be placed on the list. If you want to receive Volume 24, and are not submitting an article, return the enclosed form to the publishers (the American Malting Barley Association, Inc.) Please check your address and note any changes on the form. Where possible, please share your copy of the Barley Genetics Newsletter with others to reduce the number of copies which must be distributed.

Manuscripts for Volume 24 will be accepted until January 31, 1995.

Letters to the editors are welcome and will be published in the Letters to the Editors section.

Reports on research activities (including ongoing projects, descriptions of new genetic and cytological techniques, current linkage maps, descriptions of genetic stocks, and lists of genetic stocks) are invited for the Research Notes section. A list of barley genetic stocks was published in Volume 16 of the Barley Genetics Newletter.

Coordinators assigned at the International Barley Genetics Symposium should submit their reports by January 15, 1995 to:

Please inform the Technical Editor of any errors you notice in Volume 23 or previous volumes; corrections will be published in the Errata section of Volume 24.
