A year has passed since many barley geneticists, barley breeders, and barley researchers in various subjects from all over the world met at the 6th International Barley Genetics Symposium at Helsingborg in Sweden. It was a great pleasure to welcome so manyparticipants at the meetings.

Since the foregoing overall coordinator's report, some changes of the coordinators have taken place, which have been made during the Helsingborg Symposium and are published in BGN Vol. 20. A new collection "Barley-wheat addition lines" has been established. An updated list of the coordinators with their addresses and FAX numbers is available in this same issue. I will also encourage the editors to publish such a list in each BGN issue to appear, as there are always some changes in addresses.

I am glad to take the opportunity to thank the following coordinators, who have passed over their work to successors, for their enthusiasm and efforts in keeping the chromosome maps and collections up to date: S. E. Ullrich (Chromosome 1), T. E. Haus (Chromosome 4), and E. A. Hockett (Male sterile genes).

Also this year, only a few coordinators' reports have been received. It is important for barley geneticists to obtain current information from the coordinators. In BGN 20:13 the duties and responsibilities of the coordinators as reported in BGN 2:15 are published. May I remind the coordinators about these 5 items
