The eceriferum (cer) genes control the synthesis and excretion of the epidermal wax coating. To date 1580 induced and 4 spontaneous mutants have been localized by diallelic crosses to 79 complementation groups. All alleles in locus Cer-yy are dominant; the alleles Cer-n⁹⁶⁹ Cer-q¹⁴⁴⁰, Cer-t⁹⁷⁷ are also dominant, while other alleles in the same loci are recessive.

The present list is a continuation of the stock lists published in Barley Genetics Newsletter Vol. 1, p. 97, 1981, Vol. .1, p. 110, 1973, Vol 5, p. 88, 1975, Vol. 7, p. 92, 1977, Vol. 9, p. 135, 1979, Vol. 12., p. 169, 1982, and Vol. 15, p. 89, 1985, and comprises 57 new alleles.

The following corrections are necessary for stock list I, Vol 1981:

• P. 99: cer-q⁶⁷⁸ is cer -u⁶⁷⁸
• P. 100: cer-u⁶⁰⁸ comprises 2 different mutants, cer-602a and cer-602b, which have segregated in subsequent generations; cer-u⁶⁰² is a cer-u allele, while cer-602a is a cer-c allele, thus cer-c^602a

• p. 111: cer-q⁵⁴⁶ is not cer-q and is still unlocalized.
