A paracentric inversion in the short arm of chromosome 7 in a wild barley line has been described by Konishi and Linde-Laursen (1988). The inversion leads to two tandemly arranged nucleolar constrictions. The line, Spont.S-4, also carries a translocation between the long arm of chromosome 7 and the short arm of chromosome 3.
