The future of BGN beginning with Volume 17 is as follows:

1. Volume 17 and later issues will be published and distributed by American Malting. barley Association (AMBA) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. No payment is necessary.

2. T. Tsuchiya, T. E. Haus and R. T. Ramage will continue to serve as editors of Barley Genetics Newsletter for one or two more years until replacements are found.

3. Editor(s) will provide edited, camera-ready final manuscript to the AMBA for Volume 17 and later issues.

In spite of a short notice, contribution of manuscripts to BGN Volume 16 was rather good.

If we continue Barley Genetics Newsletter in the'future much cooperation would be necessary for success.
