Inheritance:
Probably dominant over normal.
Semi-sterile heterozygotes indicating presence of a translocation not linked to lax-mf (14).
Description:
Spike internodes about 15% longer than normal.
Late maturing plants with few tillers, short spike and dry grain yellowish (13).
Origin of mutant:
1963 after resting Foma seed treated with ethylmethanesulfonate: 1.4% x 3 hours.
Mutational events: (3, 4)
lax-mf300, -mf301, -mf302.
Mutant used for description and seed stock:
lax-mf302 in Foma.
