Eckhoff and Ramage (1984) found a short awn mutant, lk,,f to be linked with msg 24 on chromosome 4. The lk 5 locus on chromosome 4 was being tested for allelism with lk,,f.

Tsuchiya (1984) has been unable to confirm that any of the zb mutants in the Genetic Stock Center at Fort Collins, Colorado is located on chromosome 4. Immer and Henderson (1943) had associated a zb mutant with chromosome 4 in their linkage studies. Robbelen and Heun (1985) report the findings of allelism tests with a number of induced mutants for mildew resistance and ml-o. Of several mutants tested, only one (B1011) was found to be allelic to ml-o. One other mutant (N 182) was shown to be on chromosome 4 in linkage tests with br 2, K, lk 5 and f 9.

Ramage and Eckhoff (1985) reported a glossy leaf mutant induced in the cultivar Morex showed linkage with msg 24 on chromosome 4. Possible allelism with gl 1 or gl 3 had not been determined.
