IV. 8. Coordinator's Report: Chromosome 7.

The dominant gene for partial incompatibility between Hordeum vulgare cv Vada and H. bulbosum was located on chromosome 7 and linked to the DDT susceptibility gene with a recombination fraction of 0.112 + 0.032 (Pickering 1983a, b). Based on linkage analysis the "dusky" (dsk) mutant was placed in the gene order nld-fs-s-dsk-r (Hayashi et al., 1983). Falk and Kasha (1963) confirmed that the marker f6 is located close to the centromere on chromosome 7 in the gene order f6-s-r with r being distal to the centromere. The branching inflorescent rachilla gene (bir) is located less than l cM distal from locus lax-a and more than 28cM proximal to the s locus (Larsson, 1983).
A new acrotrisomic 7s7L aneuploid was obtained from a triplo 7 plant (Furst and Tsuchiya, 1983). Additional data on the fertility of telotrisomic 7S and transmission rate of the telo was provided (Shahla and Tsuchiya, 1983) and an aneuhaploid with 2n = 7 + 1 telo 7S was produced (Tsuchiya and Shahla, 1983).
