IV. 8. Coordinator's Report: Chromosome 7.

George Fedak, Ottawa Research Station, Agriculture Canada, Ottawa, Ontario K1A OC6, Canada.

A telotrisomic for the short arm of chromosome 7 (telotrisomic 7S) has been isolated (Shahla and Tsuchiya, 1982a). It arose in the progeny of a plant with a chromosome constitution of 2n = 15 + 7S found in the F2 progeny from the cross 2n = 15 (trisomic 7) x yst3 - a yellow streak mutant (Shahla and Tsuchiya, 1982b). Triple 7S plants resemble normal diploids in morphology and seed fertility is 96.0% from selfing and 92.0% in crosses with diploids. The female transmission rate of the telocentric is 24.0%. At MI of meiosis Triple 7S, 47.2% sporocytes showed 1III + 6II + 52.8% showed 7III + 1I.
