IV. 18. Chloroplast genes: Progress report III on diallelic tests between mapped chloroplast genes and chloroplast genes in stock collection at Copenhagen.
D. von Wettstein and K. Kristiansen, Department of Physiology, Carlsberg Laboratory, G1. Carlsberg Vej 10, DK-2500 Copenhagen Valby, Denmark.
The allele tests comprising 472 combinations of the mapped albino genes and the 29 albina mutant genes of the Copenhagen collection are completed and the final results are as follows:
ac2 (albino) on chromosome 1 is allelic to alb-m27.
y and yx (albino) on chromosome 2 are alleles and allelic with alb-c7.
a2 (albino) on chromosome 2 is not allelic with alb-a
to alb-ze and neither with additional 27 albina mutants in the Copenhagen
collection (albina
10-15, 20, 21, 30, 33, 38, 40, 42-44, 46-51, 53).
an (albino) on chromosome 3 is not allelic with alb-a to alb-ze and neither with additional 27 albina mutants in the Copenhagen collection.
ac (albino) on chromosome 3 is not allelic with alb-a to alb-ze and neither with additional 27 albina mutants in the Copenhagen collection.
a3 (albino) is allelic with alb-za111.
at (albino) on chromosome 5 is not allelic with alb-a to alb-ze and neither with the additional 27 albina mutants in the Copenhagen collection.
cm (cream seedling) on chromosome 7 is not allelic with alb-a to alb-ze and neither with the additional 27 albina mutants in the Copenhagen collection.
The allele tests involving the mapped yellow and light green seedlings
with the 20 xantha genes and the 30 viridis genes of the Copenhagen collection
are almost completed. So far only one case of allelism has been detected:
xc (xantha) on chromosome 3 is allelic to vir-127.
