Alphabetical list of genetic stocks in barley is presented together with references. For more detailed information readers should refer to the Master List of Barley Genes (Søgaard, Nilan and von Wettstein, 1982, BGN 12:133-160) and Supplemental List No. 1 to Master List of Barley Genes (Søgaard and Jørgensen, 1982, BGN 12: 161-168).
The following alphabetical list of genetic stocks represents those mutants that have been described in past BGN issues with a few exceptions. Most of these stocks are available at the Genetic Stock Center in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.
There are a large number of barley mutants for which seed is unavailable or which are of questionable character. As mutants are described and located on chromosomes they will be added to the list which follows.
