II.37 Association of a chlorina mutant with chromosome 3.

T. Tsuchiya and D. W. Robertson, Agronomy Department, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado 80521, U.S.A.

A chlorina mutant, 28-3398, was crossed with trisomics. F2 data (Table 1) showed that the chlorina gene is located on chromosome 3. Since no chlorina gene has been located on chromosome 3 and no symbol of f2 has been given to chlorina previously, the chlorina gene of 28-3398 will be designated as f2. An attempt to associate this gene in specific arm is now underway by suing telotrisomic 3A.

Table 1. Segregating ratios in F2 from crosses between six trisomic types and a chlorina mutant, 28-3398.

Reports II.29 (P. 58) through II.39 (P. 66) by T. Tsuchiya and coworkers are based on the results of researches supported partly by NSF Research Grant GB 4482 X.
