II.20 Linkage between the loci orange lemma and amy.

Gunnar Nielsen and Ove Frydenberg. Danish Atomic Enery Commission. Research Establishment Riso, Dk-4000 Roskilde, and Department of Genetics, University of Aarhus, DK-8000 C, Denmark.

Since crosses with translocation lines have indicated that the alpha-amylase locus, Amy, is located on chromosome 6, the linkage between
Amy and the well-established chromosome-6-marker, orange lemma, o, has been estimated in two crosses:

The X2 testing free recombination in the total of both materials is highly significant (X2 = 46.2) and the total linkage estimate is r = .17 + .03.

(Editor's Note: The authors used the symbols Amy1 and Amy2 to represent the alleles at the Amy locus. For convenience, these symbols were changed to Amy and amy.)
