Abstract
Three-parameter and six-parameter models were used to determine the gene effects controlling various physiological characters, such as leaf area, total dry matter, harvest index and peduncle length, in cross WH 841 x WH 882 of durum wheat (Triticum durum) under 4 environments. The additive-dominance model was adequate for peduncle length and harvest index except in environment E3 (normal sowing, 1st week of November), and inadequate for total dry matter and leaf area except in environment E4 (late sowing, 1st week of December). The results revealed the significance of additive gene effects and dominance gene effects for all characters under most of the environments. Additive x additive, additive x dominance and dominance x dominance types of inheritance were significant for most of the characters
