Abstract	Winter wheat lines were cultivated in Pitesti-Albota, Romania and evaluated for Al tolerance. They were placed in nutrient solutions containing 0, 4, 8 and 5 ppm Al SUP 3+ . Thirteen lines were tolerant to Al ion toxicity. The lines AAI 29, AAI 56 and AAI 57 showed good rooting at 15 ppm Al, which was equal to or better than the performance of Atlas-66 (control cultivar)
