Abstract
The aim of presented study was pyramiding of two resistance genes (Pm21 + Pm34) of winter wheat powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici) in a one genotype. Resistance genes were introduced into two wheat cultivars: Nadobna and Bogatka, both presenting high economic value, however, susceptible to population Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici. The wheat translocation line 6VS/6AL Yangmai 5, which carries the Pm21 gene and line NC97BGTD7, which carries the Pm34 gene, were used as the donors of resistance to powdery mildew. It was found that the molecular markers which were used in foreground selection: NAU/xibao, Xbarc177 and Xbarc144, can be effectively and commonly used in breeding programs with combination of traditional method, whose purpose is to search for sources of resistance to wheat powdery mildew of cereals and grasses. The marker selection and pathology test allowed obtaining lines that were resistant to B. graminis f. sp. tritici.
