Abstract
Some 140 wheat genotypes were screened for their resistance to foliar diseases in an experiment conducted in Dharwad, Karnataka, India during the rabi season of 2003-04. Out of 140 genotypes, 25 showed resistance or moderate resistance to foliar diseases such as stem rust ( Puccinia graminis ), leaf rust ( Puccinia recondita ) and leaf blight ( Cochliobolus sativus ). Genotypes with SI No. 9, 17, 26 and 27 produced long spikes, high 100-grain weight and grain yield and amber grains
