The Ba allele in T. monococcum spp. aegilopoides acc. G3116 determines a half-blue seed phenotype and is different from the allele present in Elytrigia pontica that determines a solid blue phenotype (Dubcovsky et al. 1996). They are treated as different genes. For review see Zeven, 1991.
