Soil moisture was adequate at planting and throughout the growing season. Temperatures were cooler than normal. Significant crown rust infections appeared later in the growing season; however, yield losses were minimal except for very susceptible varieties and lines. There were minimal infections of BYDV and stem rust in the early planted nurseries; however, late planted nurseries did receive a significant amount of stem rust infection. The growing season tended to favor later maturing varieties and lines.
