February 2025: Wheat and MASWheat protocols for the small grains compiled on GrainGenes

Protocols from John Innes Center (I. Faci-Gomez and C Uauy) have been contributed to the GrainGenes collection of protocols. These are available at protocols.io and include :

How to grow wheat

Wheat inflorescence meristem micro-dissection

Nuclei isolation from wheat meristems

Wheat high molecular weight DNA extraction

RNA extraction from wheat stigmas

Protocols from 'Marker-Assisted Selection in Wheat' MAS Wheat (J. Dubcovsky and M. Soria, UC Davis) have long been a part of the GrainGenes database, but finding them could be challenging.

GrainGenes' protocols page in the Resources Menu provides links to the GrainGenes records, the MASWheat page at UC Davis, and a local copy of the MASWheat page on the GrainGenes servers.

Find this new resource at https://wheat.pw.usda.gov/GG3/content/protocols and please contribute your lab's protocols to share with the small grains community.
