Abstract
The dynamic trends of canopy spectral reflectance and grain quality formation, and their relationships in wheat cultivars Huamai 18 and Xuzhou 26 were studied. Reflectance increased at visible bands but decreased at NIR bands after flowering. Canopy spectra at flowering was best related to grain quality index. The leaf nitrogen content was closely related to grain protein content, and wet and dry gluten content, and could be reliably estimated from canopy spectra
