Abstract
A total of 96 and 58 F SUB 5 lines derived from Zhongyou 9507/Lumai 5 and Zhongyou 9507/Jinmai 45, respectively, and F SUB 2 populations of Sunstate/Jinan 16 and Sunstate/Lumai 21 were studied to determine the effects of allelic variation in Glu-1 and Glu-3 loci on the processing quality of wheat. The contribution of different glutenin subunit loci to the processing quality, i.e. SDS sedimentation volume, mixing time and mixing tolerance was significantly influenced by 1BL/1RS translocation. The lines carrying 1BL/1RS translocation showed significantly deleterious effects on gluten strength parameters of SDS sedimentation volume, mixing time and mixing tolerance
