Abstract
Leaf rust caused by Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici [ P. hordei ] is a major problem of wheat worldwide. Five local wheat cultivars, Agra Local, Kharchia Local, Kathia Local, Malvi Local and Pissi Local, were evaluated for their slow rusting components under glasshouse and field conditions in New Delhi, India. Pissi Local and Kharchia Local performed better over the presently used fast ruster, Agra Local, in slow rusting studies both in terms of slow rusting components and area under disease pressure curve
