Abstract
A partial library of the barley DNA fragments was constructed using pBR325 as a vector. The EcoRI fragments cloned belong to the chromosomal DNA and their size varied from 2 to 14 kb. More than 95% of the cloned nuclear DNA fragments correspond to repeated sequences of different degree of complicity and copy number. Some of these DNA sequences belong to the families comprising more than 1% of the barley genome. Many cloned fragments hybridize with the numerous complex sets of restriction fragments of the genome DNA and are dispersed through the barley chromosomes.
